Symphony in the Stars Dessert Party Review

IMG_8911For the past few years, any special event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has found a way to include a dessert party and the Symphony In The Stars fireworks is no exception.IMG_8907The key to this event is location, location, location — just off to the left of the area in front of the stage. No only does this event offer prime viewing of the fireworks but also a nice, large area with some tables and the evening’s dining and drinking options. IMG_8890Check-in begins an hour before the fireworks are scheduled to start, which gives lots of time to enjoy the DJ on stage and all of the snacks and drinks. As you walk in, the first option is a Nitro Station — a treat that started here with the last Food & Wine that takes a creamy sweet treat (in this case, Nutella) and dropping it into liquid nitrogen until it hardens. After being scooped out, it’s ready to have the toppings added.IMG_8908One of the things I really enjoyed about this dessert party was the non-dessert options. This helped to offset the sugar overload.IMG_8934 IMG_8933 IMG_8919Still, the highlight was the dessert menu which included something for every taste. Among the choices were rice crispy treats, Blue Milk Pinna Cotta. Darth Vader and BB-8 cupcakes, and Darth Maul eclairs. For those picky eaters, there was also a full selection of Disney ice cream bars.IMG_8931 IMG_8925IMG_8929One of the highlights had to be the Galactic Size Warm Space Debris Bread Pudding. This option helped keep us warm on a cold Florida night, but, as I discovered, adding a scoop of ice cream brought even more flavor to the amazing dish.IMG_8932No dessert party would be complete without a few drink options. Besides Coke products and water bottles there were different flavored lemonades for the young Padawans.IMG_8912For the grown Jedi, there are a few drinks that, as my friend declared, were “very strong with the Force.”IMG_8915Once the clock strikes 8 p.m. (schedule changes), it was time for the main reason we were all there: Symphony in the Stars fireworks. In my opinion, this is the best fireworks show in any U.S. Disney theme park hands down. Additionally, the party offers one of the best views without having to wait hours and (often) get into arguments with guests around you.IMG_8968

Overall, this event is very good. Between amazing desserts and plenty of drink choices, the $69.00 per adult (or $39.00 per child ages three to nine) price tag can be looked at as a great option on those busy nights. As of now, the event is scheduled to run till March 19th, 2016 — so, if you are planning that vacation during the upcoming busy time, contact Disney now.
