“The Mighty Ducks” Celebrates 25 Years with El Capitan Throwback Screening

Last Thursday, the world famous El Capitan Theatre hosted a screening of the modern sports classic The Mighty Ducks. What made this throwback screening extra special was that it’s now been 25 years since the original film hit theatres. To celebrate, cast members Aaron Schwartz and Matt Doherty appeared in person to talk a bit about the film and greet fans.

The Mighty Ducks has an interesting legacy as the hockey film series also inspired a real-life NHL team. Because of this, the theatre was flocked with jerseys of all kinds. Plus, Wild Wing (the mascot for the Anaheim Ducks) joined the actors on stage and also lent a wing to the giveaways that are a staple of these events.

All in all, it was another exciting Throwback Thursday screening that left attendees quacking for more. You can catch future screenings at El Capitan by visiting their website.
