Review: “The Incredibles” Ugly Sweater

Winter is on its way and that means only one thing, tis the season for ugly sweaters! Okay, okay there is more to our end of the year celebrations than just funny clothing, but this is the first year that I’ve ever owned an “ugly sweater” and a Disney • Pixar one at that. Fun.com approached us about reviewing their new festive tops and I gladly said I’d participate.

I had the choice between a light blue Toy Story sweater or a bold red Incredibles sweater. I opted for the latter. While I love both films, I felt a stronger connection to The Incredibles, I have very few red items in my wardrobe, and as an added bonus, it would “match” my new purse. I’m a measly 5’2″ with a long torso so after reading the sizing chart on Fun’s website I chose a size small. When shopping online, I tend to look for length and chest size to insure that I’m comfortable and usually purchase small or medium items in women’s sizes. However these sweaters are unisex and I could have gone with an extra small. All that said, the small is pleasantly roomy and fits me perfectly.

The sweater arrived before Thanksgiving and I knew I wanted to bring it with me when we visited my family. I wore it over the weekend to see Ralph Breaks the Internet and it was a huge hit. A few other movie goers even asked me about it! Even though it has the knit look, the sweater is actually not so much a sweater, but more like a thin sweatshirt. This makes it perfect for Disney fans who live in Southern California, Florida, and other places where it gets cold, but never freezing. It’s made of 100% polyester and is machine washable and dry-able. I had no problem cleaning it, and actually let it air dry on top of the dryer because it was just slightly damp coming out of the washer. The colors are vibrant (even after washing) and I love the Incredibles logo and the snowflake pattern, in fact, I could probably do without the Parr family on the front because its so cute on its own!

Final thoughts:

I really like this “ugly sweater” and give it my vote for a great gift—for yourself, a fellow Disney fan, or even as a gag gift! It’s comfortable and not itchy and pairs well with leggings or jeans. I could easily see young adult/adult siblings getting theses tops and taking some great family pictures. What’s even better, is right now select styles are on sale, some up to 30% off.

Action Shot!
