CHOC Walk in the Park Fundraising Event Returns to Disneyland in August, Registration Open Now

UPDATE 5/17: On Wednesday, May 22, Chick-fil-A will be hosting a cookie day that will benefit CHOC! Buy a chocolate chunk cookie at any Chick-fil-A restaurant in Orange County and 100% of the profits from the cookie sales will go to support the CHOC Walk!

Since 1990, friends and family, staff and patients of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (founded in part by Walt Disney and Knott’s Berry Farm entrepreneur Walter Knott back in 1964) have been participating in a commemorative walk celebrating the amazing milestones and accomplishments the hospital has achieved over the years: helping the children of Southern California overcome their illnesses and lead long, fulfilling lives.

And since 2002, the annual CHOC Walk in the Park has been held in the Disneyland Resort itself, tracing a 5K journey through Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney District shopping area and raising millions upon millions of dollars in support of the Children’s Hospital and its services. Now CHOC Walk in the Park is returning for its 2019 event, and you can be a part of the fun and excitement at Disneyland Resort this August, with all proceeds going to a great cause: health care programs, education and research for kids.

When and Where: This year’s CHOC Walk in the Park will take place in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 11 at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Expect to see familiar Disney character cheering you on as you traverse a 5K course through Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney District.

How it works: Register online at CHOCWalk.org as an individual or as part of a team. You can even form your own team with friends, family members, and/or coworkers. However, a minimum fundraising goal must be met in order to participate in the actual Disneyland Resort CHOC Walk in August. An opening ceremony will be held on Main Street, USA prior to the beginning of the walk, and free parking will be provided to all participants.

Why You Should Register: Participants receive a CHOC Walk t-shirt and required wristband, plus individual walkers and teams can win prizes based on the level of funds raised for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. You will also get the great satisfaction of knowing you gave back to the community and helped kids continue to find amazing healthcare when they need it.

Anyone who would like to participate in CHOC Walk in the Park 2019 can pre-register online (for $85 per person) at CHOCWalk.org before 4:00 PM on Monday, July 29. After that, late registration will be available for $95 until Saturday, August 10.

For further information, check-in information, and any and all event details, be sure to visit CHOCWalk.org.
