Event Review – Universal Studios Hollywood Welcomes Guests Back for Taste of Universal

Universal Studios Hollywood is once again welcoming guests as this weekend marked the debut of the new Taste of Universal dining event. The event features a selection of food and beverage options from a wide variety of dining locations throughout the upper level of the park, as well as shops, character meet and greets and photo ops.

Taste of Universal is perfect for those who want to get back into the park and try out some of the food and beverage the various lands have to offer. Tickets, which vary in price depending on the day you visit, include five food offerings for adults and 3 for kids, with additional offerings available to purchase.

Guests will find 12 different dining locations participating in the event, including locations in Springfield, U.S.A. and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

There are roughly 70 different options scattered around the park so there is certainly something for everyone. You can see the full menu for the event here, but here is a look at some of our favorites.

Minion Cafe

Grilled Cheese with Meatballs

Chicken, Bacon & Ranch Mac N Cheese

Hollywood And Dine

Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bowl

Hot Chicken Sandwich

Krusty Burger

Krusty Burger

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Yes, you can even get butterbeer!

To ensure the safety of guests enjoying the event, designated dining areas have been marked, with additional safely-distanced seating.

Outside of these dining areas, guests are of course reminded to properly wear a face covering at all times. Universal Studios Hollywood is also doing everything in their power to keep the park clean and safe for guests.

It’s not all about the food though. Guests will also be able to find some photo opportunities and even physically-distanced character meet and greets with characters like the minions and Hello Kitty.

Overall, Taste of Universal is well worth the ticket price. The variety of food options ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy, right down to the Butterbeer. Plus, the five samples that come with the ticket will have no guests leaving hungry.

In the end though, it’s not really about the food. While the attractions remain closed, it’s just great to be able to get back into the park (or in my case, get in for the first time). It’s been a long time since guests have been able to visit the Wizarding World, Springfield and the rest of Universal Studios Hollywood, so it’s just great to see guests enjoying the park again.

Taste of Universal runs on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with prices varying depending on the day. You can get tickets here.
