In case you’ve managed to totally avoid the internet for the past 24 hours, Disney released a special look at the upcoming live-action Aladdin, including our first look at Will Smith’s Genie in all his blue glory.
Well, I can definitely say I’ve never had a friend like him. In fact, that would be putting it nicely. The internet wasn’t quite so nice. Disney fans have taken to their social media accounts to share their thoughts on the new-look Genie and of course to make some jokes at his expense.

The “new Shaman” was even given a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air twist.
Will Smith as the genie looks like what one of those kids from the 90’s Fruit Gushers commercials would look like if they never found a cure for their fruit curse.

This opportunistic Redditor even used the new Genie to take a shot at the My Disney Experience app.
What do you think of Will Smith’s new Genie? Are you just happy he’s blue or did you lose sleep last night for fear that he was watching you sleep?
You have plenty of time to form your opinion before Disney’s live-action Aladdin jumps into theatres May 24th, 2019.
