We’re (almost) there. It’s finally (nearly) done. Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox is (practically) complete. So naturally, the internet is going to have some fun with the news.
You didn’t think a story involving one massive entertainment company acquiring the assets of another massive entertainment company would come and go without a few memes did you? If so, you just haven’t been paying attention to the internet lately.
Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, got things started early with a look at the Merc with a Mouth sporting his newest headgear.

And speaking of The Simpsons, Matt Selman, one of the writers for the animated series, shared this one way back when the deal was announced.
Of course, who could forget that The Simpsons actually predicted all this?
All jokes aside though, 21st Century Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch acknowledged the more serious side of the transaction with a heartfelt note to his staff ahead of the closure of the deal. Take a look at his note below (courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter).
With all of that said, we’re looking forward to seeing what comes of this massive acquisition for Disney, which is set to officially close at 12:02 a.m EDT. We’re sure there are some exciting things ahead — stay tuned!
