“A Complete Unknown” and “A Real Pain” Lead Disney Nominations at 97th Academy Awards

"Inside Out 2" also scored a nomination as did National Geographic's documentary "Sugarcane" among other Disney projects.

Following a pair of delays due to the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area, this morning, nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced — and this year’s nominees include several Disney projects.

What’s Happening:

  • In a live announcement broadcast online and on ABC, Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott revealed the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards.
  • While films such as Wicked, Anora, Emilia Pérez and others saw several nominations, as it relates to Disney, A Real Pain and A Complete Unknown led the pack.
  • Additional Disney nominees include the Nat Geo documentary Sugarcane, Pixar’s Inside Out 2, a nod for Elton John’s song “Never Too Long” from the film of the same name, and effects nominations for 20th Century’s Alien: Romulus and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
  • The 97th Academy Awards (hosted by Conan O’Brien) are set to air live on ABC and Hulu on Sunday, March 2nd.
