Time to get to slaying, as a pilot order is on the horizon for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series for Hulu.
What’s Happening:
- Variety is reporting that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in final talks to join a new Buffy series in a recurring role, as the show would mostly focus on a new slayer.
- Set for Hulu, the series is nearing a pilot order with Nora and Lila Zuckerman set to write, showrun, and executive produce.
- Academy Award winning director Chloe Zhao is also set to executive produce, along with directing.
- The cult hit series has often come up in conversations of “dream reboots”, with many plans in place previously. However, this would make the first proper return to TV for the former WB series.
