Closing Dates Announced for Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano

The beloved attraction and its surrounding restaurants are closing permanently to make way for a new Monsters Inc. themed land.

The dates that Muppet fans have been dreading have arrived, as Walt Disney World has revealed when Muppet*Vision 3D and its surrounding restaurants will be closing forever.

What’s Happening:

  • A few months ago, Disney announced that Muppet*Vision 3D and the rest of Muppets Courtyard would be closing to make way for a new Monsters Inc. themed land and roller coaster.
  • We now know exactly when the beloved attraction and nearby restaurants will be closing permanently.
  • Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will serve up its last meal of Italian fare on May 10th.
  • Guests will have a little longer to experience Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo, as they will have their final day of operations on June 7th.
  • Acknowledging the love for Muppet*Vision 3D, Disney has said they are “exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.”
  • However, the Muppets won’t be leaving the park entirely, as they will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster – teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival!

About Monsters Inc. Land:

  • Picking up after the events of Pixar Animation Studios’ beloved film, humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc.
  • Guests will be able to see the sights, hear the laughs and zoom through the building just like James P. Sullivan (a.k.a. Sulley) and Mike Wazowski.
  • The land will include Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster, which will be employed to bring the iconic doors scene (or something like it) to life.
