Southwest to Offer Daily Non-Stop Flights from LAX to MCO Starting this August

It's time to start planning your fall Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando vacations!

Calling all theme park fans in California looking to visit the Orlando Area. Beginning this summer, Southwest Airlines will be offering non-stop flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Orlando International Airport.

What’s Happening:

  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has announced on X that Southwest will begin nonstop service to Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning on August 5th, 2025.
  • The airline, which is a favorite of many passengers flying around the US, offers a unique flying experience where planes stop periodically at airports along a specific route. Similar to bus travel, passengers do not need to disembark during intermediate stops along the route.
  • However, Southwest passengers flying to Orlando along this new route will not need to worry about these travel time-adding stops.
  • The redeye route, which means the flight will happen overnight, will travel directly from LAX to MCO, is about a 5 hour flight and will be offered daily.
  • Times for the flight may vary, however, the current schedule estimates the flights will depart LAX at 10:10PM and land at MCO at 6AM.
  • Non-stop flights are also offered on return trips, with roundtrip airfare running around $450 per person.
  • You can check out available flights at Southwest’s official site here.
  • For those in the LA area looking to take a trip to Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort, this additional offering will be a perfect option for airfare.
