App Review — Disney Build It: Frozen Brings You Into the “Snowbox”

Disney has recently launched a new app, Disney Build It: Frozen. If you’re anything like me, you might be a little bit skeptic if Disney can pull off another Frozen-themed game but, rest assured, they hit magic again!

This new game allows users to create their own Frozen inspired snowglobes and, as you work your way through tasks, you can earn additional and familiar characters from the film. Described as a “sandbox (or, in this case, “snowbox”)-style experience”, you have the ability to choose different buildings such as Oaken’s Sauna, a Cabin, or even Elsa’s Ice Palace, and customize the buildings with different ice crystals. Every once in awhile, you will find that a character is requesting a specific building and upon completion, you earn a cute surprise, such as a snowman that you can customize with accessories or even a snowgie!

As you complete tasks, you have the ability to unlock more levels and characters. However, you do have the option to buy them instead of earning which is $1.99 per level or $3.99 for the entire package of all characters and levels, which is a great value.

This is a very cute game with adorable little characters. I loved the snowglobe type theme and the simplicity of the game was wonderful for my three-year-old. My favorite aspect had to be earning snowgies. It was fun to see seven of them running around Elsa and Sven and interacting within the globe. Also, this app does allow in app purchases which, in this case, I think is wonderful considering the price of the entire package.

This is a great game for anyone that loves Frozen and having their own personal snowglobe on their device. I know we’ll continue to play this and grow our little snowglobe kingdoms! To try it out for yourself, this is available in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon store.

Lauren has been a Disney fan all her life. On her first birthday, she received a copy of the Disney Sing-a-long, Disneyland Fun, and ever since that, she's been hardcore in learning everything she can about the park. Another one of her favorite aspects is the food and she enjoys recreating those recipes to share with her friends and family. She also loves any craft that she can add a little bit of Disney magic or a hidden Mickey to make more magical.
