On Friday, June 25th, Disney’s Official Fan Club D23 celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Walt Disney Archives. Below are a few of the highlights taken from D23’s twitter of the event including the donations of several new items to the archives:
- Bob Iger honored Disney Archivist Dave Smith with his 40th anniversary service award
- Lost Executive Producer Carlton Cuse donated Oceanic boarding pass and John Locke’s knife to the archives
- Sean Bailey of the studios donated Red Queen’s scepter from Alice in Wonderland and the Dead Man’s Chest from Pirates of the Caribbean to the archives
- Disney Channel Entertainment President Gary Marsh donated Selena Gomez’s wand from Wizards of Waverly Place to the archives
- Mary Poppins star Karen Dotrice (Jane Banks) donated her jacket from the “I Love to Laugh” scene to the archives
