Hundreds of visitors and guests packed the lobby of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel early Friday morning to celebrate the royal wedding as the Orlando hotel broadcasted the event live on large TV and projection screens. Guests arrived wearing festive hats and tiaras, and carrying Union Jack flags starting at 4:00am.
On display in the lobby was a replica of the 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring Prince William gave to Kate Middleton and a royal tiara, both constructed entirely from sugar by the hotel’s executive pastry chef and two time world pastry champion Laurent Branlard.
Guests enjoyed complimentary English-style breakfast items including porridge, scones and grapefruit. Immediately following the ceremony, guests received the traditional English wedding cake, fruit cake.
