D23 Hosting Special Hunchback VIP Experience Event in San Diego

D23 Members are invited to be among the first in the U.S. to see The Hunchback of Notre Dameduring its run at La Jolla Playhouse. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and featuring the Oscar®-nominated score from the 1996 Disney animated classic, The Hunchback of Notre Dameis the only stage collaboration from two masters of the American musical theater, Disney Legend Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.

Tickets will be available at D23.com on July 14 at 10am PT. The cost will range from $75-125 depending on seating location.

For one night only, D23 Members are invited for a VIP experience including:

  • A seat for a D23-exclusive performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame on Tuesday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m., the first performance after its premiere!

Featuring a lush, emotionally rich score, this brand-new production from acclaimed director Scott Schwartz highlights the music’s orchestral power and choral beauty in an intimate retelling of the famous love story. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is produced by special arrangement with Disney Theatrical Productions, who earlier had developed Peter and the Starcatcher at La Jolla Playhouse as part of the Page To Stage play development program before it went on to win five Tony® Awards on Broadway.

Led by Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, the nationally acclaimed, Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse is known for its tradition of creating some of the most exciting and adventurous new work in regional theater. Twenty-five Playhouse productions have moved to Broadway, earning 35 Tony Awards, including the current hit Jersey Boys, as well as The Who’s Tommy, the Pulitzer Prize-winning I Am My Own Wife, Memphis, and Peter and the Starcatcher.
