Masterpieces from the Golden Age of Animation are shared by local San Diego collector, David Yaruss, whose passion for collecting was first ignited in 1975 at one of the first Comic-Cons, held in the basement of the El Cortez hotel. Yaruss credits that experience with changing his life forever and kick-starting his collection of original Disney animation art, comics, historical items and books.
“It’s been my purpose for a long time to not only hold this collection privately, but to share it with the masses,” says David Yaruss. “The artwork is amazingly beautiful, I’ve always appreciated the creativity that’s gone into these classic features. It’s truly an inspiration for excellence.”
The Museum at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is an inviting 9,000-square-foot exhibition space boasting three galleries, a sculpture court, secure collections storage, and a museum store.
