Freeform will debut “Force” by TroyBoi from the STAR WARS HEADSPACE album on Thursday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. PST before the album is released digitally at midnight. Freeform will simultaneously make the song available on all the network’s social accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest and YouTube.

Hollywood Records and American Recordings recently announced the release of the new compilation, STAR WARS HEADSPACE, executive produced and curated by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Rick Rubin. The record enlists the talents of some of the top and emerging electronic dance music artists who have assembled songs infused with sound effects and dialogue from the award-winning Star Wars film franchise. The physical CD will be available wherever music is sold on March 18.

“A project that combines Star Wars, electronic dance music, TroyBoi and Rick Rubin is by definition an exciting and momentous pop culture event. Freeform is thrilled to be a part of it and share “Force” with the many Star Wars and music fans in our audience,” said Nigel Cox Hagan, senior vice president, Marketing, Creative and Branding, Freeform.

TroyBoi said, “In Star Wars, the Force has two sides to it, the light (practiced by the Jedi) and the dark (practiced by the Sith). I wanted to explore this with my production and create a track that portrays both sides of the Force. I made the first half of the track very vibrant, joyful and energetic to represent the Jedi’s use of the Force. I then switch it up half way through and created a darker and more grimy feel to interpret the Sith’s dark side of the Force.”
