With the recent announcement that Disney Infinity is coming to an end, it was announced that Finding Dory and Alice Through the Looking Glass sets would be the last released.

Kotaku has discovered what would have been if the franchise had continued.

Ninja Theory was working on a Star Wars: Rogue One Play Set to be released later in 2016 while Studio Gobo was working on the Moana Play Set based on the upcoming film from Disney Animation.

They were also working on special edition 12-inch figures of Buzz Lightyear, Elsa, Hulk, Hulkbuster, Jack Skellington, and Darth Vader. They would reportedly retail for $45 and featured more detail, lit up, and acted differently in-game.

Reportedly in 2017, a new version of Disney Infinity would be released, but the game would have dropped the numbering scheme and not named Disney Infinity 4.0.

Content for the new game would have included upcoming films such as Cars 3, Star Wars: Episode VIII, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Coco, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, and Thor: Ragnarok.

The new edition would also feature a “Toy Box Story Mode” which would allow story based game play where users could use any Infinity figure unlike the story based play sets which are franchise locked.
