UPDATE: SlashFilm has removed the images as they were released unintentionally and Disney has requested that they be removed. We have followed suit as well.
Alright, Star Wars fans: ready to learn more about the first Star Wars spinoff film, Rogue One? Thanks to a preview of a new book on the art in the film, Slashfilm reports on some new information including a few character names.
By combining some of the info in the unfinished book preview with some of the rumors that have been swirling, here’s what the site was able to piece together about the characters in the film:
- Felicity Jones plays Jyn Erso , a highly skilled soldier and warrior.
- Diego Luna plays Captain Cassian Andor , an officer in the Rebel Alliance.
- Jiang Wen plays Baze , a freelance assassin
- Riz Ahmed plays Bodhi, a rebel soldier.
- ??? plays Pao , an alien who is described as a “fierce warrior”. Looks like another computer generated character.
- Donnie Yen plays Chirrut, who is described as “a spiritual warrior.”
- ???? plays Bistan, another CG-looking alien who is also described as “fierce warrior”.
We’ve also learned a bit about the CG character played by Alan Tudyk which will be an imperial model K-250 enforcer droid. As Slashfilm notes, “Most of the text on this page is filler, it does appear that the droid character was a former Empire security droid who somehow joins the film’s group of rebel fighters on this daring heist.”
