Magic Kingdom Tests Automated Photo Locations

It looks like Walt Disney World is looking to add more photo magic to the My Disney Experience App. Behind the Thrills recently got to test a new service that directs guests to special photo locations, snaps their photo, and sends it to their phone. For example, the site shares a photo of the Sword in the Stone marked by a small PhotoPass icon:

Once you’re on the right spot, you hit the “ready” button on the app and a countdown begins until your photo is taken. One flaw that the site notes is that there are no directions on where to look (at least during their testing).

For now, these tests are only being conducted using company-issued phones that are given to guests to try out the new offering. It’s unclear when this technology will get a wider roll out.
