This morning on The View, we were treated to footage of Whoopi Goldberg taking on the role of the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin… at least for one line. That footage is now online, showing the actress’s preparation for her big moment and how it was received by a surprised audience. Back in the studio, the current Genie, James Monroe Inglehart, joined the panel as did Major Attaway who will be taking over the role next month. They also surprised the audience with free tickets to the show and Whoopi had a gift for Attaway:

Attaway will take over the role of the Genie is the Broadway hit Aladdin beginning February 21st. Meanwhile The View airs mornings on ABC.
