It appears that the stalemate between Disney and Altice USA, which runs Optimum cable systems, has ended. In a joint statement they said, “we have reached an agreement in principle and have extended the deadline accordingly to try and finalize the term.”
The original agreement, which was scheduled to end on Saturday, allowed Optimum to carry ABC, ESPN, and Disney Channel. Disney was seeking additional money for the right to show their networks while Optimum pointed to viewership declines as a reason not to.
