February 27 to be Named Coco Day in Los Angeles

Los Angeles City Councilmember Gil Cedillo, First District, will declare “‘Coco’ Day in L.A.” at City Hall on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, honoring the Pixar movie. The celebration falls on the very same day the film is released on Digital and Blu-ray, with Director Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3), Producer Darla K. Anderson (Toy Story 3), Anthony Gonzalez (the voice of Miguel) and additional castmembers from the film in attendance. In addition, the Mariachi Divas, known for their performances at the Disneyland Resort, will perform “Remember Me” and “Un Polo Loco”

This is the first-ever animated feature to include an almost entirely Latino voice cast, including many who reside and grew up in the City of Los Angeles.

Coco is nominated for two Academy Awards – Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song “Remember Me.” You can read our review of the film’s digital release here.

Here is a look at one of the bonus features where you can hear the song “Remember Me” in three different ways.
