While it might not have arrived via owl, Harry Potter fans can consider this their acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Throughout the month of September, Universal Orlando Resort is hosting a Harry Potter themed event at both parks and fans of all ages are encouraged to participate in the fun.
What’s happening:
- Universal’s Close Up Blog shared the news of a special Back to Hogwarts event taking place at Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley in Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida parks.
- Back to Hogwarts begins on September 1st with a fan meet-up, and continues throughout the month with themed activities, photo ops, and more.
Back to Hogwarts: A Social Media Fan Meet-Up:
- Several lucky fans have already secured their spot to help kick off the celebration during the fan meet-up. Event registration filled up quickly, so fans who can’t attend can check Universal’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up with all excitement taking place.
Back to Hogwarts Scavenger Hunt:
- Throughout the rest of the month, guests can join a photo scavenger hunt through the lands and share how The Wizarding World of Harry Potter comes to life by using the hashtag #BackToHogwarts.
Group Photo Fridays:
- Guests are welcome to dress in their favorite costumes and show off their love of everything magic. Each Group Photo Friday will take place at a different location throughout the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Dress for Back to Hogwarts

- From shopping to dinning, there’s no shortage of fun to be had when visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Grab a Butterbeer with your fellow classmates or test your bravery on the thrilling attractions. In fact Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey has be updated with newly enhanced 4K-HD imagery projection making this ride more real than ever.
