“Jurassic World – The Ride” Officially Open at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood just got a massive new attraction. The park has officially opened “Jurassic World – The Ride.”

  • “Jurassic World – The Ride” is inspired by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World blockbuster films.
  • This new thrill ride features the film’s stars, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong, who reprise their roles as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu.
  • The new attraction features dimensional animatronic dinosaurs, including some all-new fan favorites featured in the Jurassic World films, including the colossal Indominus rex and the magnificent aquatic Mosasaurus.
  • “Jurassic World – The Ride” was created by the Universal Creative team with help from Industrial Light & Magic, a division of Lucasfilm, the brand stewards at Universal Pictures and acclaimed filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall.
  • The aesthetic of the former “Jurassic Park – The Ride” has been enhanced to feature a new entry statement, stonework landscaping and a contemporary redesign of the iconic pillars complete with billowing flames and a prominent “Jurassic World” marquee logo.
  • Videos in the queue feature facts and information about the dinosaurs within the ride, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
  • Guests board specially designed rafts and navigate lush environments filled with towering dinosaurs, including the Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus.
  • Of course, the tame trip past these docile creatures makes a turn for the worst as guest encounter carnivorous Velociraptors and Dilophosaurus.
  • A Tyrannosaurus Rex battles one of the park’s newest attractions before the raft full of guests makes its daring escape.
  • Guests can also see the elaborately themed all-new “Raptor Encounter” where Blue, the beloved Velociraptor from the Jurassic World movies, engages with guests in daring face-to-face encounters.
  • In addition to the new attraction, a new “Dino Play” area will bring educational components within an inspired space where children of all ages can partake in excavations and investigate giant dinosaur fossils.

  • Guests can also check out the new Costa Rican-inspired cuisine and flavorful Tiki cocktails served at Jurassic Café and all-new tropical Isla Nu-bar.
  • The Jurassic Outfitters Store also features a new array of souvenir collectible, limited edition and one-of-a-kind dimensional dinosaur sculptures, as seen in the video above.
