Comic-Con@Home: What We Learned From the “Jim Lee’s X-Men” Panel

Comic-Con@Home continued today with a wide array of exciting panels. One of those panels shared a look at IDW Publishing's newest Artist Edition books, including one featuring one of the most popular comic book artists of all time, Jim Lee. Here’s a look at what we learned from the “Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist Edition Spotlight” panel.

  • The panel featured Scott Dunbier (IDW, director of special projects), Dirk Wood (IDW, senior vice president integrated marketing), Jim Lee (artist) and Scott Williams (artist, inker).
  • Williams, who has worked as an inker in conjunction with Lee for some time, discussed working with Lee and some memories Lee’s rise to becoming the prominent artist he is today.
  • Lee himself then joined Dunbier to discuss his career, sharing stories on how he broke into the business.
  • Lee also talked a little about the upcoming “Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition” book coming soon, saying “The way I look at it, I’m happy with what I did at the time, I’m happy with what it is and I’m glad people love it so much.”
  • “Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition” will be released on November 10, 2020 and is available for preorder now.
