New Ordering Process and Self-Serve Drinks at Disneyland’s Alien Pizza Planet

While in Tomorrowland, guests can stop by Alien Pizza Planet in Tomorrowland for some refueling and refreshments, and now, once again serve themselves beverages at the self-serve stations in the restaurant.

What’s Happening:

  • Alien Pizza Planet at Disneyland Park is a popular quick-service eatery with pizza and pasta offerings but on our recent trip, we noticed a few modifications.
  • Where once guests would go to the window designating the food they would like to order (Pizza, Pasta, Etc) and head to a central area to pay, now payment is taken in advance (courtesy of Disney’s Mobile Ordering through the Disneyland App) and guests head to a numbered table to retrieve their snacks, meals, and souvenir sippers.
  • While a standby line is still available for guests to order a meal from, it is highly recommended to use the Mobile Order service for a quicker and easier process at the restaurant.
  • While that all seems par for the course in today’s world, the most notable change was spotted at the beverage stations, where guests can once again self-serve their own fountain drinks. The ability to fill your own cups at food locations hasn’t been seen since the Disney Parks reopened and is slowly coming back to locations where self-serve soda fountains are available, with Alien Pizza Planet the latest among the growing list.
  • Alien Pizza Planet is located where the Mission to Mars attraction once stood. The then-revolutionary ride offered daily “flights” to the Red Planet from 1975 to 1992. Before that—and before the 1969 lunar landing—park Guests boarded a Rocket to the Moon at this storied site. Peruse a slice of Disney history as you enjoy your slice of pizza: Original posters advertising past Tomorrowland attractions on the back wall are a must-see for any Disney buff. Originally called Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port in the Tomorrowland renovation of 1998, much of the menu has remained the same (complete with space themed pizza and pasta puns) as the restaurant was loosely rethemed into Alien Pizza Planet as part of Pixar Fest before becoming a more permanent offering.
