Rowan Blanchard, Auli’i Cravalho Reportedly Tapped to Star in Coming-of-Age Film For Hulu

A new coming-of-age film is in the works for Hulu and Deadline is reporting that Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho have signed on to play the leads.

What’s Happening:

  • Deadline is reporting that Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho have been cast in a new coming-of-age film for Hulu.
  • The project is currently untitled, and Sammi Cohen will serve as director, working with a script penned by Kirsten King and Casey Rackham.
  • Blanchard will star as Paige, an aspiring artist who’s thrust out of her comfort zone and Cravalho will portray AJ, a track star who has always lived in the shadow of her twin sister.
  • Disney fans will surely recognize both leads from various projects. Blanchard has had roles in:
  • Cravalho provided the voice of Moana in Disney’s Moana and starred as Ariel in ABC’s The Little Mermaid Live! 

Synopsis:

  • The untitled film “centers on an aspiring artist who is forced to join her high school track team, using it as an opportunity to pursue the girl she’s been harboring a long-time crush on. Later, though, she finds herself falling for an unexpected teammate, only then discovering what real love feels like.”
