Videos Ceremony, Harriss - Page 1 Announcer: Ladies and Gentleman please welcome our 2002
Disneyland Resort Ambassador, Matt Ebeling. Matt Ebeling: Good Morning, everyone. Today it is
my honor to welcome you to the Disneyland Resort as we celebrate the first birthday of
Disney's California Adventure. (The audience begins to applaud and cheer.) Yes!
This is a party. Just one year ago Michael Eisner along with Roy E Disney and Mickey Mouse
dedicated Disney's California Adventure to the world. It was a milestone for the
Disneyland Resort and today we are here to continue that dream. Matt Ebeling: So at this time it is my great pleasure to
introduce the President of the Disneyland Resort, Cynthia Harriss along with everyone's
pal, Mickey Mouse! The song Feels Alright accompanies Cynthia and Mickey's walk to the
podium. Cynthia Harriss: Well good morning everyone! How y'all
today? This is a good day. (cheers throughout the crowd Cynthia acknowledges
them with an enthusiastic, "hi!") Today is not only a significant day for
Disney's California Adventure but it also marks the beginning, last year, of the expanded
Disneyland Resort in its entirety. Over the past year the Disneyland Resort along with the
city of Anaheim have grown today into this beautiful tree-lined community in which we're
inviting guests from all around the globe to come and experience our world -class
entertainment, restaurant and shops. In the collective spirit of hospitality that radiates
from the supportive community is one that adds just new sparkle to our resort like never
before. At Downtown Disney, the Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure and all of
our Disneyland Resort hotels our cast members have faced unusual challenges along with the
rest of the world. But We have continued to offer our guests who have traveled here to
find all of those things that they want. It is that joy, the relaxation and the fun of
adventure for kids of every age. We deem it a great privilege to be able to be able to
offer this haven of happiness and we will always have this as our most treasured
undertaking.
