Attraction Posters
For many Disney enthusiasts one of the first true indications they are in Disneyland is the sight of the attraction posters lining the passageways under the Main Street Train Station. Hong Kong Disneyland is no different.
What follows is a brief photo portfolio of the
attraction posters that can be found at Hong Kong Disneyland. Some have been
reworked from artwork utilised at Tokyo Disneyland and EuroDisneyland but many
are original images that have been art-directed by each land's executive
producer. Due to the size of Hong Kong Disneyland at its Grand Opening earlier
this month many restaurants and minor attractions have been given their own
poster. One restaurant from each land has been commemorated in this way.
The prominence of the posters themselves has taken
on a new identity at Hong Kong Disneyland as there are numerous locations
other than the entranceway to the park. The areas bordering Town Square (the
Hill Bros Coffee Garden and Bekins Storage facility walls), a wall behind the
Main Street Corner Cafe and numerous areas in Tomorrowland have been graced
with this artwork.
So do you have a personal favorite? For me it
is definitely the Starliner Diner. The playfulness of the stubby rocket
outside and the cute photo location have been captured perfectly. In addition
both Space Mountain and Orbitron also feature the same design standards that
truly capture the kineticism and dynamism in the land.
