The Buena Vista Music Group has set a September 2003 release date for Hilary Duff's debut solo album for Buena Vista Records/Hollywood Records, following the success of "The Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack" and the hit song "Why Not" by Duff.
Bob Cavallo, Chairman of the Buena Vista Music Group, says: "We are extremely pleased to be continuing our positive and successful relationship with Hilary Duff and her mother, Susan. Hilary is a truly remarkable and delightful young lady. It's a pleasure to support this talented television and film actress as she works to fulfill her music aspirations."
For her debut solo album, Duff is currently working in Los Angeles with some of the music industry's top producers and songwriters, including Kara Dioguardi (Enrique Iglesias, Celine Dion), The Matrix (Avril Lavigne), Meredith Brooks (Jennifer Love Hewitt), John Shanks (Michelle Branch, Sheryl Crow), and the team responsible for the track "Why Not," Charlie Midnight and Matthew Gerrard. Duff has two other music projects over the next 18 months with the Buena Vista Music Group.
