Former Disney Consumer Products Chairman, Andy Mooney, Joins Outfit7s Advisory Board

Celebrated Licensing, Publishing and Retail Executive to Join Global Entertainment Leader, Outfit7, as an Advisor

“Much like Walt Disney himself, we create lovable characters with incredible global acclaim and our Talking Friends characters have potential for limitless growth: from films, to books, to music and more,” said Narry Singh, Chief Business Guru of Outfit7 Inc., a subsidiary of Out Fit 7 Ltd. “We are honored to have Andy join our team. From licensing and publishing, to retail and brand integration, Andy’s unmatched ability to cultivate globally recognized brands will be a huge asset as we continue bringing the Talking Friends characters to life in new ways.”

As the previous Chairman of Disney Consumer Products (DCP), Mooney and his team revolutionized Disney's licensing business, re-invented the Disney Stores and opened Disney English Language Learning Centers in mainland China, creating exciting new growth opportunities for the company. Mooney grew Disney’s publishing division to become the global leader in children’s publishing and was responsible for creating two of the company’s largest franchises, Disney Princess and Fairies.

Prior to joining Disney, Mooney spent 20 years at Nike, Inc., most recently as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, and played an integral role in the development of the iconic advertising campaign ‘Just Do It.’ During his tenure at Nike, Andy managed the company’s footwear and apparel divisions and founded Nike’s equipment division.

“I have been very impressed with the global reach and appeal of the Talking Friends characters. Outfit7 has cracked two of the toughest challenges in any business – creating products users love and building a unique global distribution network,” Mooney commented. “It takes the right combination of ingredients to create brands beloved by consumers worldwide and I believe the Talking Friends characters have those ingredients. What also attracted me to this opportunity is the quality and track record of the Outfit7 leadership team. I look forward to working closely with Narry and the Outfit7 team to achieve substantial growth and redefine the future of entertainment.”

Less than two years after launching the first Talking Friends app, Outfit7’s Talking Friends characters have been downloaded more than 300 million times and reached more than 90 million monthly active users worldwide. The company averages 25 million downloads per month, with more than 500,000 videos being uploaded to YouTube, Facebook and sent by email and MMS.
