The next three shorts were released during World War II. The first, Food Will Win the War from 1942 was intended to illustrate the role of Americas farmers in the war effort. Hahn mentioned that the narrator of the film was noted newsreel announcer Fred Shields.

After viewing Food Will Win the War, Hahn and Bossert pointed out animated farm sequences used in Silly Symphonies, as well as footage of the Three Little Pigs. They also had some fun with the many analogies that were used in the film to illustrate the output of Americas farmers.
The next short was a good neighbor film from 1943. The Grain That Built the Hemisphere was a celebration of corn. It traced corn from its origins in prehistoric South America to its worldwide influence in the twentieth century.
