Welcome Home

KB Homes and Disney are teaming up to allow new home buyers to have Disney décor in their new abode.  Now this is an idea that has been a long time in coming.  As a kid I remember telling my mom, “I wish I had a room decorated in the style of a key Disney franchise.”  In fact, as Epcot approaches its 25th anniversary there has been a lot of discussion about how the Epcot theme park differs from Walt’s original vision.  He originally wanted Epcot to be an experimental city.  And of course he wanted the citizens of Epcot to have rooms themed to Cars or Pirates of the Caribbean.  I do have a warning though, only purchase the Disney décor if you are willing to make a long term commitment to your new homestead.  Because I hear that when it comes time to remodel, the wrecking ball will actually bounce off your Disney home and you will have to use chainsaws to tear it down.

Quick Takes:

Media Networks: ABC continues its streak by winning the second night of its season.  Night 2 of Dancing with the Stars followed by the season premiere of Boston Legal won the night in total viewers, but FOX scored big with the key demographics.  Can ABC win three nights in a row?  Stay tuned.

Parks and Resorts: High School Musical 2: School’s Out, premiered at the Disney-MGM Studios this week.  This is the same show that launched at Disney’s California Adventure with the premiere that was held at the Disneyland Resort for the movie.  I love how Disney is launching a show about summer vacation in September.  I hated the start of school when I was a kid and the last thing I would want to see at a theme park is a show about kids enjoying summer vacation.  That being said, why would I be at a theme park in September anyway?  I should be at school or studying

Studio Entertainment: The poster for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian has been revealed.  The tag line is “A New Age Has Begun”.  As we approach the second anniversary of Bob Iger taking the reins of The Walt Disney Company, I remember uttering those words when the transition happened.  Hopefully Prince Caspian will be as exciting and rewarding as the first two years of Iger’s Disney has been.

Video of the Day:  Here is a video showcasing some of the rooms that KB will be offering.  I know it comes across as a news report, but it’s not.  Even ABC News wouldn’t sink that low.
