Disney Channel Rocks Debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Today Disney’s Hollywood Studios debuted the new Disney Channel Rocks! show. Gideon and I headed out to see its debut showings. Live shows are quite popular with our 20 month old and this one continues that tradition. He was immediately bouncing and clapping along to the high-energy tunes from various Disney Channel movies and shows. It helps I’m sure that the songs are familiar, too. We danced along to songs from Camp Rock, Camp Rock 2: Final Jam, Starstruck, Cheetah Girls: One World, and High School Musical. The show’s highlight for me was a medley featuring “It’s On!” which then broke out the gals and guys into competing songs “Push It to the Limit” and “Dance Me if You Can.”

LaughingPlace will be sharing more videos and photos from the show in the days ahead. But here’s a few clips I took with my phone and a couple of pics, too. Being one of the show’s early performances many in the crowd were friends and co-workers of the performers. This always lends a high energy to both the crowd and performers that is quite a lot of fun. Given how much Gideon enjoyed the show (we even got through most of it during a second performance the next hour) I suspect this will be a favorite “in the park with mommy” stop for us.

Showtimes today were 10A, 11A, 12P, 4:30P and 5:30P. The show travels up the park’s main blvd to the Sorcerer’s Hat area. If you want a front row for the show wait by the Sorcerer’s Hat, after the stage passes they lead people to form a semi-circle of sorts around the parked stage.
