Tokyo DisneySea Easter 2015

It’s hard to believe but Summer is already here and Easter at the Tokyo Disney Resort is winding down after another successful year, which saw the debut of Easter at Tokyo DisneySea Park. In this online article I will highlight the excellent new “Fashionable Easter” Harbor Show and offer a preview for some exciting events which will be coming  that have recently been announced.

The Official website describes Easter at Tokyo DisneySea as a Stylish and fashionable Springtime event. Guests are encouraged to get in the mood by wearing Easter bonnets and enjoying all the Ports around DisneySea, which are fully decorated for the occasion with flowers and Easter Eggs.

The Mediterranean Harbor presented a brand new show for the event featuring Disney Characters modeling unique Easter fashions which have been designed by artist around four of the DisneySea Ports. “Fashionable Easter” is a fashion show like you have never seen before featuring amazing costumes, kites and pyrotechnics. The Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that a new attraction will open in Port Discovery at Tokyo DisneySea Park in spring 2017. Press release states that the new attraction will be themed to the world of the Disney/Pixar films Finding Nemo and Finding Dory (to be released in 2016). This indoor attraction will immerse Guests in the underwater world of these popular stories by using a ride system that seamlessly blends visuals from the films with a motion system.

Unfortunately with the opening of this attraction, StormRider will be permanently closed around mid-May in 2016

The Tokyo Disney Resort has also announced it’s intentions to build a brand new Port themed to Scandinavia. It will include areas and characters from the world of Disney’s Frozen. Development of the new Port will not begin until after 2017.

Tokyo DisneySea will offer a new theme for Halloween with the Disney villains. The Park will be turned into a place where Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends along with the villains spread a gorgeous and stylish Halloween. Guests can enjoy a new show on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor. Selected Park Restaurants will receive makeovers  by the Disney Villains and offer special menu’s.

Halloween begins on the 8th of September1st of November, 2015

Finally Tokyo DisneySea has revealed exciting plans for next year’s 15th Anniversary: The Year of Wishes.

Highlights announced from the press release include

Crystals of various colors symbolizing individual wishes will decorate the Park. The crystals will even sparkle on the Disney characters’ costumes and merchandise, creating an atmosphere of hope and dreams throughout the Park.

Kicking off the anniversary event will be “Crystal Wishes Journey,” a brand new show to be presented at Mediterranean Harbor only during the special event period. The Disney characters, each with their own wish, will appear in this show that celebrates the start of the Guests’ journeys of adventure, sparkling with hope.

A new version of “Big Band Beat,” the popular show presented at the Broadway Music Theatre, will debut with new music, costumes and scenes. This will be the first time that the show has been changed since it opened in July 2006.

In addition, a brand new musical show incorporating projection mapping* will premiere at the Hangar Stage in Lost River Delta in mid-2016

The Hotel MiraCosta will also be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2016. Besides the festive decorations around the hotel interior, the hotel will offer special menus at the restaurants and the lounge starting from April 15, 2016.

Tokyo DisneySea’s 15th Anniversary will begin April 15, 2016, through March 17, 2017.

Finally moving over to Tokyo Disneyland. The Park has announced two of the new concepts for it’s upcoming Fantasyland project which will double the current size.

Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland themed areas will be part of this massive plan. No construction or opening dates have been announced.
