Help Mowgli run by swiping up, down, and side to side to avoid obstacles and help him collect honey drops to unlock power-ups. As you progress, you’ll start finding more obstacles and tasks such as avoiding dangerous, yet familiar characters such as Shere Khan, King Louie, and even Kaa.

You basically have one task: keep Mowgli running! Through most of the game, you have three paths to choose from — sometimes one path will take you up into the trees, sometimes another will pull you down by cliffs. I really loved the variety in the scenery. If you happen to trip over a rock and have to restart, it starts you on a new course, so it stays fresh.

I did find it took me a little while to get in the groove of the game, but once I did, I was on a roll! I think one of my biggest problems was that I initially started playing the game on my iPad in a very well lit room with the screen light on low to save battery power. After I turned the blinds around and turned the brightness up, I did so much better. The game is dark in the sense that you are running through a dim jungle, so rocks, drops, and cracks that are hard to see regularly are almost impossible to see when you are in a very well lit room. One feature that I did appreciate was, if you happened to hit into a tree and need to start over, once in a while you could watch an ad in order start off where you left off.

This is a fun game. Although it took me a little longer to master, I feel ready and even more excited to see The Jungle Book. If you’re ready to swing and run through the jungle, head over to Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
