Epcot – 2018 International Food & Wine Festival

As summer starts to come to a close, that means only one thing: the start of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! This festival is one of the biggest draws for Epcot, as many guests plan their vacation to be at Walt Disney World just for this event, and this year’s festival sounds to be one of the biggest yet. We started off our preview day with Dave Kesting, General Manager of Epcot Festivals, giving us a sneak peek at some of the new and exciting things coming to the 2018 F&W Festival.

With so many new activities coming to the festival, it will be hard to do it all plus try all the amazing food and beverage options, but the one I am most looking forward to is the Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak. Over the past few festivals, Epcot has found a fun way to incorporate a scavenger hunt (they say for kids but I have seen more adults taking part) into the festival and Remy’s is a great one. If you have not had the chance to take part in this fun hunt, you purchase a map (this year in the form of a menu) and as you travel the World Showcase you search for Remy and one of 15 ingredients to help make ratatouille. Once you have found all you redeem for a prize which this year is one of four lenticular cups.

This year’s line up of festival merchandise is sure to put a dent in everyone’s budget, with great new items like the spirit jersey and ears to returning favorites like Dooney & Bourke bags (which they didn’t have to show us but promise to be amazing) and will have a MagicBand to match this year.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Food & Wine without some food and wine and this year promises to be a theme park for your taste buds!

Make sure you head over and book your vacation and any of the many special add-ons for this years Epcot International Food & Wine Festival this year the festival runs from August 30th – November 12th and maybe you may even bump into a few rats?
