2018 Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Display Celebrating Cinderella Debuts

If you’ve ever visited Walt Disney World during the winter season, you probably already know that one of the best parts of resort hopping during the holidays is seeing the various gingerbread displays that pop up in several Disney hotel lobbies. With Halloween out of the way, today Disney’s Contemporary Resort unveiled its gingerbread display, once again celebrating the classic Cinderella. In addition to a tasty-looking tower depicting the iconic Cinderella Castle, the Contemporary has a few other themed surprises to offer as well.

The 2018 display is similar to that from last year, but it’s not less impressive — especially when you see all of the ingredients that go into its creation. Taking 11 days to assemble and the hard work of 39 Contemporary Bakery Cast Members, this annual display is certainly no small feat.

As for the display itself, it takes on a fun style all its own while the characters and castle are as recognizable as ever. On said castle, you may notice some other fun “Easter Eggs” (wait, I thought it was Christmas…) such as the “it’s a small world” clock face. Personally, I also find the peppermints to be a nice touch — not the mention the glass slipper that resides next to the display.

Near the display, you can also pick up some special merchandise with artwork featuring the display. Of course, there are also some treats to soothe your sweet tooth, including gingerbread shingles with a glass slipper design. Plus, if you’re looking for a little piece of edible artwork to call your own, then the elegantly sculpted White Chocolate Cinderella could be just what you need.

So, if you’re headed to Walt Disney World this holiday season, be sure to stop by Disney’s Contemporary Resort and some of the other resort hotels to check out this year’s fresh batch of amazing gingerbread creations.
