Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is celebrating the holiday season with festive new entertainment and holiday décor in every land of the park. From the magical menagerie of life-sized puppets around Discovery Island to meet and greet overlays in Dinoland U.S.A., the park is alive with the Christmas spirit!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Entry
One of the best reasons to visit Walt Disney World during the holidays, is for the decorations. Each of the four parks celebrate the season in their own way, and all of them feature a giant Christmas Tree at their entrance.
Discover Island is alive with This year Disney’s Animal Kingdom has introduced life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets of winter animals and they are amazing! We personally love the penguins, but each creature is so interesting. There’s something magical about the color, look, and design of these new winter friends.
We’re know you’re supposed to save the best for last, but these penguins are just too cute!
With eyes that blink, and contented smile, this snowy little seal pup is perfection!
No red noses here, so we know Rudolph isn’t hiding out with our new reindeer friends, but we wouldn’t blame him for taking a Disney vacation!
This winter avian has such a nice form and an impressive wingspan. Looking at these pictures makes us wish we could soar with the birds for bit!
Russell and Dug
No matter the season, Wilderness Explorers love nature and learning! Russell and his furry friend, Dug have decorated their meet and greet spot with lights, garland, and Christmas trees.
Holiday lights, glowing flowers, lanterns and more have been strung up throughout the land in celebration of Diwai—India’s festival of lights.
The village of Harambe features brilliant decorations in a variety of bright hues. Here they’ve blended western traditions with the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations.
Pandora – The World of Avatar
Seasonal celebration are part of the culture on Pandora. Perhaps some of these holiday decorations are influenced by the Alpha Centauri Expeditions team or researchers? Either way, we love the unique style.
It’s time to party like it’s Mesozoic era! Hmm now I wonder, did they even have holidays back then?
