Disney Springs Celebrates Family Volunteer Day

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products along with the nonprofit organization Points of Light hosted “Family Volunteer Day” activities on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019, at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. The event celebrated the power of volunteerism and encourage families to volunteer in their communities in Central Florida or back home.

The morning started off with new Walt Disney World Resort President Josh D’Amaro welcoming guests and volunteers before inviting Natalye Paquin, president and chief executive officer of Points of Light, to the stage. Paquin then introduced the Aguirre family of McAllen, Texas. The family was recently named the first-ever Disney and Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year following a nationwide search conducted on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, took the stage to wrap up the presentation and announce that the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program had reached more than 3 million hours of volunteer services. Once the presentation was finished guests, were invited to take part in the Volunteer Village set up in the Disney Springs Marketplace.

Guests who took part in this great program received a special sticker that enabled them to enjoy exclusive offers at Disney Springs restaurants and retailers for the Family Volunteer Day.
