Happy Who-bilation! The Holidays have returned to “The Entertainment Capital of Los Angeles,” as both Grinchmas and Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter are already well underway this year at Universal Studios Hollywood, not to mention a dazzling array of decorations around the park.
This week I spent a full evening at Universal Studios Hollywood experiencing a good deal of what Grinchmas and Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter have to offer, but first I had to ask The Grinch himself (available for meet-and-greets in the park along with– in a separate spot– his faithful dog Max) what he would say to anyone who hasn’t visited this popular destination for tourists and Southern California locals alike during this festive time of year.

Indeed, the Grinchmas area has been unmistakably “plussed” with an all-new state-of-the-art 55-foot topsy-turvy Christmas tree, adorned with hundreds of ornaments and thousands of white and multicolored LED lights choreographed to music. And each night at Universal Studios Hollywood, the Grinch helps the citizens of Whoville light the tree in a fun Who-bilation ceremony. On Tuesday night, this show was even more celebratory with the addition of special guest Mario Lopez of Access Hollywood and Saved by the Bell fame reading an excerpt from the beloved children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

And over in Hogsmeade Village, it’s beginning to look (and feel) a lot like Christmas, as cheerful lights and decor brighten the eaves of the Wizarding World, seasonal fare and Hot Butterbeer is available at Three Broomsticks restaurant, the enchanting a cappella Frog Choir performs holiday songs, and the jaw-dropping “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” projection show brings the iconic location to life for the season.

The holiday season runs from now through Sunday, December 29 at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. For more information and advance ticketing resources, be sure to visit the park’s official website.
