Countdown to Avengers Campus: Pym Test Kitchen

As we get closer and closer to the opening of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, we continue our look at some of the Marvelous details that will be found in the new land. And of course, some of our favorite details with any addition to the parks are always the food and beverage offerings. We’re already putting together our list of the things we need to try at Pym Test Kitchen.

At the Pym Test Kitchen, guests will find that “Pym Particles” can be used to grow and shrink just about anything, including the delicious offerings at this restaurant. With that concept in mind, this brand new eatery will be offering some very large and very small menu items.

Honestly, everything that’s been revealed for the Pym Test Kitchen menu looks absolutely delicious, but we decided to take a look at our three must-haves for when Avengers Campus opens.

First up is the Experiment No. IP42: Quantum Pretzel, which you can see in the image above. Who doesn’t love a good pretzel? This giant pretzel has been enlarged by the quantum tunnel and comes with a mustard sauce and a beer cheese dipping sauce (featuring California IPA, sharp cheddar, mozzarella, a hint of mustard). The combination of the super-sized pretzel and those delicious dipping sauces already has my mouth watering.

The second item on our list is Experiment No. EE90: Not So Little Chicken Sandwich. The bun shrunk and the chicken grew. That may not be ideal for a sandwich but this still looks astonishingly good. The Not So Little Chicken Sandwich, consists of a fried chicken breast topped with teriyaki and red chili sauces, pickled cabbage slaw and crispy vegetable dusted potato bites.

And for the kids, there’s a shrunken chicken sandwich, the Subatomic Sandwich. This simplified offering is served without sauce, leaving kids to customize it their own way at the condiment station. And speaking of that condiment station, before we get to our top must-try menu item, let’s take a look at some of the awesome theming this restaurant will offer.

It’s not just the food that’s been enlarged. The beverage and condiment station was also a test subject and guests will see the results when they visit the restaurant. Goliath cans of soda and condiment dispensers fit right in with Pym’s famous experiments.

And without further ado, here is our most anticipated must-try item from Pym Test Kitchen…

Experiment No. EE746: PB³ Superb Sandwich features peanut butter, banana, smoked bacon and strawberry jelly with a banana smoothie shot and vegetable dusted potato bites. Bizarre? Maybe. Delicious? Probably! We can’t wait to find out! If you’re going to eat at a place called the Test Kitchen, you have to be at least a little adventurous!

For the kids who may want things a bit simpler, there’s a deconstructed version, which includes peanut butter (served in a Petri dish), strawberry jelly, a little paddle to spread it, and two slices of the Pym  bread, fruit and a Dasani water or a Lowfat Milk.

These are just some of the Pym Test Kitchen offerings we can’t wait to try. There’s still the Experiment No. EE10: PYM-ini and Experiment No. EE45: Impossible Spoonful. You can take a look at all of the currently-known offerings here. And of course, on top of all of those delicious offerings, this place is sure to be a very cool restaurant with some more impressive theming.

Avengers Campus will open June 4 at Disney California Adventure. Be sure to check back for more looks at all the Marvel fun coming soon in the weeks leading up to the opening date.
