“A Place Called Slaughter Race” Gets Pop Version Music Video and Fun YouTube Cover

Along with last week’s debut of Ralph Breaks the Internet came a fun new song for the young Vanellope called “A Place Called Slaughter Race.”  And in true Disney form, there’s a pop version too. Singer, Julia Michaels recorded the alternate version “In This Place” as the second song during the end credits of the film as well as music video. Check it out:

  • The music video for “In This Place” from the Ralph Breaks the Internet soundtrack, was directed by Aya Tanimura who has worked with other celebrities including:
    • Katy Perry
    • Charlie Puth
    • Miguel & Natalia LaFourcade
    • Alessia Cara
  • Michaels recorded song as the pop version companion to the film’s “A Place Called Slaughter Race” with music composed by Alan Menken and lyrics written by Ralph Breaks the Internet director Phil Johnston, and producer Tom MacDougall (Frozen).

YouTuber, Megan Lee recently shared a video of her covering Vanellope’s version of the song. Lee manages to do a great job capturing the signature Vanellope voice in her cover, as well as the unique sound of Shank. With so many princess cover songs on YouTube, it’s nice that there’s finally something for the energetic Vanellope. Check out Lee’s interpretation below:
