Muppets (Rap) Battle it Out on TNT’s “Drop the Mic”

If you’ve ever watched the Late Late Show segment or the TNT (formerly TBS) series Drop the Mic, you’re surely familiar with the format. Basically, a varying number of celebrities spit bars and trade barbs in order to crown a victor. That might sound straightforward enough but the show does manage to have some interesting surprises. Case in point: last night’s episode didn’t just feature some random comedians, online influencers, or award-nominated actors. Instead, it was some of your favorite Muppets that entered the battle arena.

The show pitted Kermit the Frog and Pepé the King Prawn against Miss Piggy and Beaker. Now, if you know anything about these characters, you may be wondering about Beaker’s rap skills in particular. Well, you’ll just have to take a look at the full clip to see how each team fared:

Incidentally, the night’s other battle also had a Disney tie-in as it featured three cast members from ABC’s Lost. Daniel Dae Kim, Josh Holloway, and Harold Perrineau all appeared to determine who was the true protector of the island (although we all know that was Hurley). Sadly, that clip isn’t on YouTube just yet, but you can keep an eye out for reruns in the meantime.

In any case, what did you think about the Muppets’ rap battle? Which felted MC did you think deserved to win? Let us know!
