Disney Pictures Nominations, Toy Story 3 Nominated for Best Picture

LaughingPlace Newsdesk — Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 is among the nominees for Best Picture at the 83rd Academy Awards and has also been nominated for Best Animated Feature. The other Best Animated Feature nominees are “How to Train Your Dragon” (Dreamworks) and “The Illusionist” (Sony Pictures). Disney’s “Tangled” was not nominated in the Best Animated Feature category.

Original Song nominees include “I See the Light” from “Tangled” Music by Alan Menken Lyric by Glenn Slater -and- “We Belong Together” from “Toy Story 3″ Music and Lyric by Randy Newman

As well as garnering nominations for Best Picture, Animated Feature Film and Original Song Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 3” is nominated for Sound Editing and Adapted Screenplay (Screenplay by Michael Arndt; Story by John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich).

Teddy Newton’s “Day & Night” (Pixar) the animated short that appeared in theaters with “Toy Story 3” has been nominated for Animated Short Film.

“TRON: Legacy” received a nomination for Sound Editing. 

Disney Pictures “Alice in Wonderland” was nominated for Art Design, Costume Design, and Visual Effects

Other Disney Company related nominations include:

  • Iron Man 2 (Marvel Studios Production (Paramount and Marvel Entertainment, Distributed by Paramount) in Visual Effects
  • The Tempest (Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films Production (Miramax)
