Japan Hit By Major Earthquake and Tsumani. Tokyo Disneyland Resort Affected.

The major earthquake that hit Japan has had an effect on the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. According to reports the car park has been hit by an effect called “liquefaction” causing it to be drenched with water-logged segments from the ground. There were 69,000 people in Tokyo Disneyland at the time but there are no reports of injuries. Twitter user Rezaikram has Tweeted a few pictures like the one below of guests camped out in the public areas of the park. He reports that guests have not been allowed to leave the park.

5:00AM Pacific Time Update: Disney Parks Creative Entertainment exec Steven Davison (who is at Tokyo Disneyland for Fantasmic rehearsals) posted on his Facebook page that they have been told the parks will be closed on Saturday so officials can inspect for damage.

Disney’s Aulani hotel (still under construction) is on the side of Hawaii that faces Japan so that is something to watch as the tsunami from the earthquake approaches Hawaii. It’s due to reach the island at 5:07 AM Pacfiic Time.
