Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 16 Weekend from @WDW_Weather

For the past two days all signs have pointed to a more unstable period this weekend and that the weekend is here – signs are sort of still point to that but I can’t find any hard evidence that any sort of widespread thunderstorm activity will be a sure fire bet.  (Isn’t it awesome being a weather guy … well … maybe it will rain … I dunno … <shrugs shoulders> … when is Happy Hour).

Anyway I’d expect much of today to be the same as much of the rest of the week.  Warm (though not quite AS warm … mainly because of more cloud cover this afternoon) – we will see plenty of sunshine early – then the chance of thundershowers this afternoon.  Wash, rinse – repeat through Sunday.

Expect high temperatures to top out in the low 90s all weekend long.  And again, models are pointing towards an unsettled period through early next week and I will say this, plan for rain – even if it doesn’t happen you will be glad you did.  When the sea breezes collide today over the interior we could see some serious action in the form of dangerous lightning, gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall.  It should go without saying that while the parks have lightning rods all over the place – it is never a wise decision to remain outside in a thunderstorm.  Please use your head and find cover – these things blow over pretty quickly.

So latest on the shuttle … still scheduled to launch Monday last I checked – this unsettled period of weather may be a concern so it will be interesting to see how Mother Nature affects the launch even if there are no technical problems. [Ed Note: The shuttle did launch this morning]

Have a great weekend everyone and maybe I will see some of you for those Pixar sessions in Epcot Saturday afternoon!  You won’t know who I am … but hey – just know we are there together in spirit :-)!
