Walt Disney World Weather Report for June 21 from @WDW_Weather

Happy first day of summer all you Disney fanatics out there!  For you sticklers out there – summer officially begins at 1:16pm this afternoon – and then low and behold the days start getting shorter AGAIN (oh precious sunlight how we will miss you).  Don’t get all teary eyed though, it’s still going to feel like we are living on the surface of the sun for the foreseeable future.  Actually, let me take that back – by Saturday maybe it will feel like we are only on the first planet from the sun – mercury.  That’s right, that’s my really long and drawn out way of saying that a slight cooling trend is coming our way as we head towards the weekend.  Now what’s the difference between a super hot 96 and a hot 91?  Not much because those humidity levels are still going to be up there, so don’t let your guard down and when you are walking around a theme park – always remember to stay hydrated.  I say this from time to time, but any Disney beverage center that sells fountain soda will give out free cups of water if youask … a little known tip – and a valuable one.

We will remain in a rather dry period today and tomorrow but medium range forecast models are showing the atmosphere moistening up a little bit as we head through the weekend.  Between the low moisture levels and the ridge controlling our weather rain chances remain pretty small for today and tomorrow.  That said, this is the time of year you can never rule out afternoon thunderstorms – there’s just nothing out there leading me to believe it’s a foregone conclusion.

And once again the National Hurricane Center is not currently monitoring any disturbed areas in the Atlantic Ocean.
