Walt Disney World Weather Report for June 28 from @WDW_Weather

We’ve got a pretty moist air mass in place and the atmosphere will continue to moisten throughout the morning into early afternoon.  Translation – more rain.  We’ve got a pretty good chance of rain today this afternoon anytime after 2 or 3pm.  Orlando is such a LARGE area that rain is likely to fall SOMEWHERE this afternoon … with the potential for dangerous lightning.  Pinpointing forecasts for this area is always a challenge because it can be raining at Universal Studios while remaining relatively clear in the Disney parks.  This is what happened the last couple of days as showers popped up near Sanford and just kind of drifted around.  There should be a little more movement with storms today, but I would plan accordingly as if it IS going to rain … save that 10 dollars for ponchos in the park and spend it on a tasty treat from the Main Street Bakery.

It should come as no surprise that as we head into the holiday weekend that the chance for thunderstorms is with us each and every day … it’s summer – it’s pretty much the wet season – so just be prepared and let’s hope things clear up for fireworks.  That said it looks like precipitation chances will lower a TAD as we head into Friday from where they are now.  MK is open for extra magic hours until 2AM Friday/Saturday – I’ll see you all there!

High temperatures will be in the low 90s through the forecast period … once again clouds may keep us closer to 90 than 93 today.

And low and behold what a difference a day makes … The National Hurricane Center is monitoring VERY CLOSELY that area of disturbed weather we told you about yesterday.  The area is over the Bay of Campeche and may be investigated by plane tomorrow afternoon.  Pretty far away from the land of Disney – but something to keep an eye out if anyone you know is in and around the Gulf.  The disturbance is drifting NW and doesn’t look like it will pose much of a problem to any US landmass.
